Möbius Strip Planning New Release

Yikes, we've really been neglecting this blog!

Last month Möbius Strip recorded 7 new songs with Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studios. These recordings are the first to feature drummer Rosendo Flores, and we're pretty excited to put them out.

So, what do we plan to do with these songs? Well, we're not really sure. We're thinking we'll start with a three-song 7" in the spring of 2013 and decide what to do with the rest later.

If you can't wait for the vinyl, you can hear the new songs at these upcoming shows:

Thoughts on Creating Safe Spaces, or Why Möbius Strip Canceled Their Upcoming Show in Baltimore

Last week, Möbius Strip withdrew from a show scheduled for August 7 at Charm City Art Space after learning about some disturbing events. CCAS is a collectively-run space in Baltimore where artists, musicians, and other performers share their work in a DIY setting.

First Listen: New EP by Möbius Strip

In April, Möbius Strip headed into the studio with new drummer Shane Carwile to record six songs. The EP is called Escalate, and it's available for streaming or downloading from the widget below. It was recorded at Inner Ear Studios with Don Zientara and mastered by T.J. Lipple.

On Escalate, Möbius Strip wear their politics on their collective sleeve, packing six songs about animal rights, cultural identity, substance-free living, and sexual assault into just over 13 minutes.
