Möbius Strip Record Release Show 10/2 at Black Cat (and related media)
Left Out band Möbius Strip will celebrate the release of their new EP Escalate this Sunday, October 2, with a show at the Black Cat with long-time DC-area hardcorists B.S.R. (members of Key Figures, Nervous Impulse, Reticents, Ambition Burning). Those who are Facebook-inclined may invite their friends here.
The Möbs have been busy promoting the record and their upcoming show. Tuesday night Pitt and Mark appeared as guest DJs on Radio CPR's Dissonance music and talk show, where they discussed veganism in the punk scene, their vinyl collections, and digital music distribution, among other topics. The boys played some of their favorite records and debuted two songs from the EP. A third song, "Green Is The New Red," will be featured on tonight's episode of Unmutual Radio. Washington City Paper and DCist.com have interviewed the band (we'll post the links here when the stories are published), and DC Vegan highlighted the release show on its front page.
Escalate is Möbius Strip's second release on Left Out Records. The band will have a hand-numbered release show edition of the EP on hand at the Black Cat; the regular edition, on blue/black swirled vinyl, will be available in October through Left Out mail order and Crooked Beat Records. The band has other upcoming local appearances in the works, including an in-studio live performance on Sunday, November 20, on Third Rail Radio, which airs on WMUC, College Park Radio 88.1 FM.
